When Your Desire Exceeds Your Despair

When your desires are strong enough you will appear to possess superhuman powers to achieve. ~Napoleon Hill

Success begins with the fire of desire. When desire is combined with a state of mind that becomes an obsession, a definite plan, backed with persistence which does not recognize failure, prosperity and success must follow. It is absolutely amazing how desire can move us to achieve things that defy logic. Strong desire gives you the power to break down, climb across and move through obstacles that at first glance appeared to be insurmountable. The great news is that we all come equipped with the power to turn the tide of success in our favor when we ignite our desire.

Every human being desires prosperity and success. But know this, all who succeed in life get off to a bad start, and pass through many heartbreaking struggles before they “arrive.” The turning point in the lives of those who succeed usually comes at the moment of some crisis. The crisis forces them to tap into that power from within that compels them to push through disappointment to great achievement. Helen Keller became deaf, dumb, and blind shortly after birth. Despite her misfortune, and what her disadvantages she went on to become an American author, political activist and lecturer. She was the first deaf blind person to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree. Her entire life has served as evidence that no one ever is defeated until defeat has been accepted as a reality. If she could be that accomplished in spite her obvious misfortunes, shouldn’t your vision for the future appear a lot brighter?

The Marshal Fields department store is another example of desire overpowering despair and misfortune. The original Marshal Fields store burned down to the ground not once but twice, first in the Great Chicago Fire of 1871 and then again in 1873. However, the desire of Field and Leiter to keep their store open exceeded their despair. They again reopened and reclaimed their original site in 1879. Their burning desire to keep their store operating resulted in a major chain of stores that stood the test of time before being acquired by Macy’s Inc. on August 30, 2005.

Where you are now does not compare to where you can be when you ignite your desire, follow it up with a plan and faith and charge through the disappointment, despair, to claim the prosperity and success that awaits you on the other side. You too have been given everything that you need to achieve and succeed. Make the decision today what it is that your heart truly wants, ignite desire and let no obstacle or disappointment stop you!
