Step Up To Success

Problems are only opportunities in work clothes. ~Henry J. Kaiser

step up to success
My dad often said, “Life is ten percent what happens to you, and ninety percent how you respond.” His statement could not be more appropriate than for the times that we are currently living. The economy looks dismal with the high rate of unemployment, major corporations cutting their work force, and many families losing their homes to foreclosure. However, how you process these events will determine how quickly you will recover from them or if you will recover at all. Trust me the situation may look bleak right now, but this is an opportunity waiting for you. Maybe this is the time for you to take that “buyout money” start or invest in that business you always wanted. For others maybe the time is now to return to school and finish getting that degree that you so desired. It won’t be easy but the time is now to seize the opportunity to turn this problem into a more suitable solution. How you choose to deal with life’s difficulties will determine the amount of joy, peace and prosperity you experience. The prize however will go to those individuals who decide to face their problems with a positive attitude and use their energy towards creating a solution.

The human spirit thrives, and is enhanced in the face of difficulty when we play our part. “Only through experiences of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, vision cleared, ambition inspired and success achieved.” As you work towards achieving your desired goal you will inevitably face some challenges. You must recognize that the challenge is your opportunity to roll up your sleeves and put your talents to work. You see, the only place that success comes before work is in the dictionary. The difficulties of life are but an opportunity for you to get to work and create great reward and success.

Permanently engraved on the history books are the names and faces of those individuals who took difficult situations or obstacles and transformed them into something grand. They are proof for all to see that problems are but the stepping stones toward success. “When Thomas Edison invented the light bulb, he tried over 2000 experiments before he got it to work. A young reporter asked him how it felt to fail so many times. He said, “I never failed once. I invented the light bulb. It just happened to be a 2000-step process.” How many steps are you willing to take to achieve your desired success? Success is achieved only after you meet the required challenges head on. You must be willing to push aside disappointment, move beyond your fear and do the thing that you have not yet done.
