Persist to Prosperity

For a just man falleth seven times, and then will rise again. ~Proverbs 24:16

God has a wonderful plan for your life! Your appointments have been set, the doors have already been opened, however, it still won‘t be an easy journey. It is totally up to you to follow his plan, keep your appointments and walk through the open doors of opportunity. Your vision or purpose must be your guide. The essentials that you must take with you on your journey are a definite purpose, a plan, faith and a whole lot of persistence. Why? Because life will knock you down from time to time, but amazing things can happen when you keep getting up!

Aside from writing the Harry Potter novels, J.K. Rowling is perhaps equally famous for her “rags to riches” life story in which she progressed from living on welfare to multi-millionaire status in five years. She is currently the second richest female entertainer on the planet behind Oprah. However when Rowling wrote the first Harry Potter book in 1995, it was rejected by twelve different publishers. Even Bloomsbury, the small publishing house that finally purchased Rowling’s manuscript told the author to “get a day job“. During the time that Rowling was writing the original Harry Potter Book she was experiencing many challenges. She was going through a divorce, living on welfare in a tiny flat with her daughter, and her mother had just passed away from multiple sclerosis. In spite of her misfortunes, Rowling continued to devote most of her free time to the Harry Potter series. She also drew from her bad personal experiences when writing. The result is a brand name currently worth $15 billion.

Great things can be accomplished when you remain focused upon the purpose or vision that God gives you; put all of your energy towards achieving it, and you allow no disappointment, obstacle, or hardship to distract or stop you. Whenever life knocks you down or places an obstacle in your path, stand up and use it as a stepping stone to achieving the desires of your heart. Ralph Waldo Emerson said, our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising up every time we fail. J.K. Rowling had a clear vision for her book and was persistent in having it published, in spite of the rejections and disappointments she endured. Her ability to stay on track with God’s plan for her life, remain single minded and persistent, made her one of the richest women on the planet.
